The Apprentice: Danny is fired
Magna, the college educated team, lost, no one could easily be blamed for the loss except for Michael who had an exemption (but they tried), so Danny the project manager was fired. This shows you that you don’t want to be the project manager during the early rounds.
But my goal in writing about this season of The Apprentice is not to advise you on how to win the game in the extremely unlikely event that you’re picked for season four, but rather to discuss what the season teaches us about the difference between the college educated and the non-college educated.
This week, the difference is that Net Worth, the non-college educated team, chose a lower class means of promoting Taster’s Choice, involving giving away cash. Free money giveaways definitely appeal to the lower classes. Magna chose a more middle-class approach giving away Ipods which appeal more to the college educated. Magna spent more money on the event planning and less money on cash giveaways.
One may point out, “but Net Worth won.” Net Worth won not because their tactics were better, but because they came up with a marketing theme involving a guy dressed up as Uncle Sam and a mock debate, while Magna had no theme.
