David Smith of Sitemeter speaks

David Smith from Sitemeter left the following comment in my post about the Sitemeter outage:

Sorry about that. The hosting center for Site Meter was having networking problems for about 12 hours and that was blocking access to the Site Meter servers located in their facility. I'm very disgusted with their support and have started moving the servers to a new hosting center that should be more reliable. That should be completed in the next week.

I think that the whole blogosphere owes David a word of support for his great service in keeping Sitemeter up and running. There is really no better free stat counter for blogs, and Sitemeter is the stat counter endorsed by Glenn Reynolds and used by the Ecosystem traffic ranking page.
