Smart woman in a short short skirt
The title of this post is from a Jimmy Buffett song. But while exiting the Orange Line on Monday evening, I noticed a young woman in a very short skirt reading an Ayn Rand novel. Smart, and a libertarian too! It was a very strange site. Normally all the women on the Metro seem to be raging liberals.
Meanwhile, I'm now reading The Moon is a Harsh Mistress by Robert Heinlein, which is like a science fiction version of Atlas Shrugged, except that The Moon is a Harsh Mistress has a more interesting story and a lot more sex, but it seems kind of short on the politics.

What was so strange about the Orange Line exit site?
I've been sighted reading Atlas Shrugged, Hayek, etc., but I don't wear a short skirt so perhaps I might not be cited as an example of the flaming liberal that I am.
Check your spelling, and be a little more discrimatory evaluating your perception too. But good to see you active again.

Perhaps you are early in the book, but I always thought that _Moon is a Harsh Mistress_ was filled with politics, both interstate and internal. a superb book, our local SF discussion group will be reading it in February. So, if you happen to be near Joseph-Beth Bookstore in Cincinnati on the second Tuesday of 2/95, drop into the coffeehouse part about 7 p.m. and join us. Of course it would be perfect if you got the short skirted babe to come along...
