Times of India steals story from The Calico Cat
The Times of India ran a story today about Jessica Cutler (link to story), which was taken right out of The Calico Cat blog!
Chidanand Rajghatta, the "journalist," based the majority of story on what I've written in my blog, including the controversy over her age, and uses some of my own words and ideas as if they were his.
There is also a direct quote from me that he says I "chortled". There was no "chortling" going on here!
A big THUMBS DOWN to the Times of India for not properly crediting the story's source.
This is not a complaint about people using me as a source, this is a complaint about not giving me the credit I deserve.

This so called "journalist" is well known for plagiarizing. You should see his reports based on Washington Post and New York Times. He makes his living on other people's work. One wonders what his editor is doing?

I live in India. Read the story on the front page of TOI today. I've seen many other stories in the paper that are directly lifted from foreign publications. Sometimes, it's blatantly obvious, like when a story suddenly ends, seemingly in the middle of a point the writer was trying to make, probably because the editor ran out of space. It's pathetic. What's funny is that on rare occasions, they do credit their source. How? With a little line at the bottom saying "Source: Internet." Hah!
Nice to hear you've written to the editor, but I doubt you'll get a response. I wrote to them last year regarding an unsubstantiated story they printed about some old man who claimed to have special powers. They didn't reply.

For whatever its worth: despite its respectable-sounding name, the Times Of India is a third-rate, tabloid.

This post is an eye-opener.
Actually I am an unpublished writer, and I was just wondering about how I could get some of my articles published on the papers. I was only searching for information about how I could do this, when google provided me this link.
Well, now it seems as if there is no need for me to take troubles sending them my articles with a request to be published. It looks like they are sooner or later going to steal my articles from my blog. Hahaha!
I would be grateful if anybody here could provide me guidance as to how I could go about submitting my articles/poems for publication. Please do visit my blog frequently if you wish to read some of my work.
Thank you.
