Richard Leiby keeps Jessica Cutler scandal alive
Richard Leiby keeps the Jessica Cutler Washingtonienne sex scandal story alive one more day, see his latest Reliable Source column. He informs us that a “respectable” literary agent is seeking a book proposal.
After the story hit the New York Post yesterday (headlined "Pols in Sex Web: D.C. gal dishes the dirt"), we got a call from Pilar Queen, an agent at Carlisle & Co., who was seeking Cutler's phone number.
The Calico Cat was the first blog to break the story that the story hit the New York Post. Richard Leiby is a day late.
What kind of name is “Pilar Queen”? Did her mother give her that when she was born? Or is that a he?
Also from today’s column:
While walking and talking to us on her cell phone in Georgetown, Cutler spotted a piece of currency on the ground. "I just found a hundred-dollar bill!" she exclaimed. "It's my lucky day!" We'll say.
Maybe I need to spend more time walking around Georgetown. It would seem to be a more profitable activity than running this blog.
Finally, Richard Leiby seems to confirm the internet Playboy rumor by writing the following:
And this just in: At press time, Playboy called us for her number.

Although the story is still not getting any U.S. newspaper coverage, except for the Washington Post and the New York Post, it was picked up by a lot of foreign newspapers. This scandal seems bigger overseas than it does in the United States.
Based on early traffic to the website, there is once again more interest in the scandal today than there was yesterday.

For those who are new to this story and searching for Jessica Cutler’s original Washingtonienne blog, it has been down for days, but this is the link to the archive that was created by an internet Good Samaritan.
