Jessica Cutler made up fake boyfriend in high school

The following message was left anonymously at craigslist:

Here's some gossip for you kids:

Assuming Jess Cutler is Washingtonienne, I totally went to highschool with her (Nottinghaaaaam what what). In 10th grade she made up an absurd story about how she was dating some older graduate student poet type named Malcom. She never produced the guy and later admitted that it was a complete fraud. Although I always liked her ok, she was widely regarded as a whiny, attention starved ho-bag, which leads me to believe that this whole Washingtonienne bit is a scam.

There's a huge drop in traffic today, indicating that interest in the scandal is rapidly evaporating. The only mention of it that I could find in any newspaper today was The Naples Daily News, and I doubt that very many people are going to read that. The article still has her age wrong. (I used to think that everything that was printed in newspapers was true. Ha.)

The real Jessica Cutler story might make an interesting newspaper piece, like how she lied about her age and lied about having a college degree, but maybe the Washington Post is too embarrassed about being duped in order to tell it to us.

This person writes that Jessica was considered a "ho-bag" in high school, but in her blog she writes that she didn't lose her virginity until 1999, which if she is 26 now would make her 21 in 1999. How can someone who is a virgin in high school be a "ho"? And what exactly is the point of the person who wrote that post - that Jessica is a "ho" so her blog blog true, or that she is a liar which makes her blog false? That's contradictory. Whoever wrote that post clearly just wanted to be a part of this whole scandal and doesn't know Jessica at all.

Who ever said that anything in this blog was "news"? Anonymous comments left on the internet and via email could all be bogus, but I publish them giving a full explanation of the shadiness of the origin. At least I acknowledge the dubious nature of my sources, unlike the real media that report everything as fact even though their sources may be no more reliable than mine.

It was via similar anonymous comments that the lie about Jessica's age was uncovered.

And about the Blogger comments: I spent a lot of time messing with the template HTML to make them work. I'd hate to abandon all that effort. And Blogger is owned and operated by Google. If you can't trust Google, who can you trust?

Perhaps the poster's comment that she was "an attention-starved 'ho-bag'" should be read emphasizing the "attention-starved' part, from which could be inferred that a 'ho-bag' (as opposed to a 'ho') was a wannabe who made up stories about having sex for the attention.
